Join us for fellowship, food, refreshments, hard work, and a noble cause on Saturday, October 26 from noon to whenever you get tired. Volunteers must be 18 years of age to volunteer without an adult accompanying them. Volunteers from 14 to 18 may volunteer with a parent or legal guardian present until the SDHR board determines they are capable of volunteering without adult supervision.

By popular demand, Swingin' D Horse Rescue is hosting its 2024 volunteer day on Saturday, October 26 at noon at 14505 S. 353rd E. Ave. in Coweta. That's the northeast corner of Hwy 51 and S. 353rd E. Ave. (Lone Star Rd.) Current volunteers, new volunteers, and those who wish to folunteer are invited for food, fun, hard work, and fellowship!
Learn how to catch, halter and tie a horse from our qualified trainers. Meet the horses we've saved from slaughter, and learn about the mission that keeps us going. Volunteer applicants who complete orientation will be qualified to start work right away. Whether feeding, mucking, cleaning up, organizing, shopping, walking, or helping in some other way, Swingin' D has plenty of work for qualified volunteers!

Learn how to bathe and spray a horse from experienced horse handlers and trainers. Share your tips and tricks with us if you have them!
Learn the magic of mucking from the master muckers at Swingin' D. Believe it or not, mucking is both art and science, and our muckers know it all!
Bring your tools!
Bring your own tools and be ready to work on a list of projects around the property. Help us prepare to keep our herd cozy and warm this winter!

For current volunteers who want to help train and onboard newbies, please let us know what you'd like to teach so we can put you on the agenda. What do you wish you were taught? What could we do better? This is your chance to make Swingin' D into what you wish it could be.
