If you’re an energetic, optimistic, self-motivated hard worker who wants to make memories and help enrich the lives of young people, AND you want to help save horses from the threat of slaughter, Swingin’ D Horse Rescue needs YOU.

Volunteers should expect to:

  • Get dirty
  • Help lead camp activities (e.g. physical fitness, games, art, cooking, fishing, handling farm animals).
  • Help campers thrive, play, laugh, and make friends.
  • Attend a one-day orientation the day before camp begins.
  • Interview and receive a background check before attending camp.
  • Participate in on-line training before camp.

Volunteer Description

Volunteers must be able to pass a background check and provide a valid drivers license and commit to the entire duration of the camp to which they are assigned. You must also attend volunteer orientation and online training prior to the camp.

When are you available to volunteer?
We reserve the right to decline applicants with a record of violent or sexual crimes, or crimes of moral turpitude.
Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with extended hours offered until 5:30 p.m. Volunteers should plan to show up at 8:30, with shifts that run until 1 p.m. or 5:30 p.m.
